There’s something you should know about me: I’m a shameless ripoff. Both the 3rd and 4th panels include lines that are not originally mine (gasp!). But, for some reason, I thought they were funny (or dumb) in their original context, and found them… appropriate for this week’s Mini-Nova.

Think you might know what two animated shows they originally came from? Throw a guess down in the comments, and if you’re correct, I’ll send you some free ‘Supernova Lullaby’ stickers. C’mon, I have to get you to comment SOMEHOW….

Over the weekend, Secret Prison #2 made its debut here in Philly. It’s a great looking tabloid of comics, and on top of it all, it’s free! However, for all of those not in Philadelphia, I thought I would post my contribution to the anthology to give you a taste of what’s in store.

This is something that I’m trying out since the main posts seem to be taking longer than usual to finish (chalk this up to a more labor intensive process + summer travels and what not). The Little Funny strips inspired me to try simpler comics, and in a way, I kind of feel this is getting back to some of the first ‘Supernova’ comics. This isn’t to say that I don’t like where the series has gone, but this feels a bit more…accessible, maybe?

Also, I added the color by hand with Brush Markers. Definitely out of my comfort zone on that one. Still on the fence about the result.

This is one of two extra small comics that I submitted to the Little Funny collection, put together by the Cartoonist Conspiracy and Altered Esthetics gallery in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

I suppose this means that I’m back to a bi-weekly schedule for regular ‘Supernova Lullaby’ comics. Truth be told, I’ve had a lot on my plate since late May, hence the delays. It’s not something I’m terribly happy with or proud of, but that’s just the way things go. As always, your support is appreciated, so keep on believin’ true believers!
